Authore: EvelynUpdate:Apr 15,2025

Essence Stones, introduced in the March 2025 update for *Fields of Mistria*, are vital for several new gameplay features. These stones come in various sizes and are essential for daily tasks. Here's how you can find, craft, and utilize them effectively.

Following the March 2025 update, Essence Stones can be discovered within chests located throughout the mines of *Fields of Mistria*. I stumbled upon my first Essence Stone while searching for offering items to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60. However, these chests can appear on any level across various biomes and floors. Be cautious of mimic enemies, which mimic chests but will harm you if you interact with them.

You'll come across four sizes of Essence Stones: tiny, small, medium, and large. The smaller stones are more common, but with diligent searching, you can find larger deposits. If finding them proves challenging, you can craft them using the Stone Refinery within the mines.

Crafting Essence Stones is possible at the Stone Refinery in *Fields of Mistria*, a new feature added with the March 2025 update. Building the refinery is part of a new story quest where Adeline recruits you, along with Olric and Errol, to help construct it inside the mines. To build the Stone Refinery, gather the following materials:

  • x200 Wood
  • x400 Stone
  • x5,000 Tesserae

Once the refinery is operational, you can craft Essence Stones of different sizes using just Stone and Essence. The amount of materials needed varies with the size of the stone. Refer to the table below for specific crafting requirements:

**Tiny Essence Stone**x5 Stone x5 Essence
**Small Essence Stone**x10 Stone x25 Essence
**Medium Essence Stone**x20 Stone x50 Essence
**Large Essence Stone**x40 Stone x100 Essence

The Stone Refinery also allows you to craft a variety of other common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items such as Obsidian and Diamond. This makes the refinery an invaluable hub for crafting supplies needed for new constructions and projects in Mistria.

How To Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update introduced two new mechanics to *Fields of Mistria* that rely on Essence Stones: the auto-petter and sprinkler systems. Larger stones provide a longer charge duration, making Large Essence Stones particularly useful.

The auto-petter mechanic is linked to the Animal Sprite Statue, which you can place in Large Barns and Coops. When powered by an Essence Stone, it automatically pets all animals inside daily. You can find this statue in a hidden cave near Errol's house in the Narrows by using the Dragon's Breath spell on the entrance. Once unlocked, you can craft additional statues as needed.

The sprinkler mechanic is activated by the Water Sprite Statue. Placed anywhere on your farm, it automatically waters crops within a 2-tile radius when powered by an Essence Stone. You can craft more statues to cover larger areas. Find the initial statue and its crafting scroll on a small island east of the beach, past the Lighthouse area, accessible by swimming and using Dragon's Breath on the entrance.

As *Fields of Mistria* continues to evolve with updates from NPC Studio, the utility of Essence Stones is expected to expand further.

NOTE: *Fields of Mistria* is currently in Early Access, and its content is subject to change. The information provided here is accurate as of Version 0.13.1 and will be updated accordingly if any changes occur.
