To celebrate the release of the Gothic 1 Remake demo, "Nyras Prologue," THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive have unveiled a new trailer. Unlike the original Gothic, where players embodied the Nameless Hero, this demo lets you experience the game through the eyes of Nyras, a prisoner. Despite the protagonist change, Nyras’s ultimate goal remains the same: survival in the unforgiving world of Gothic.
Launched during the Steam Next Fest, the Gothic Remake demo has already broken records, boasting the highest concurrent player count in the franchise's history:

This demo showcases the remake's impressive visual overhaul, featuring upgraded graphics, refined animations, and a revamped combat system powered by Unreal Engine 5. While the prologue naturally doesn't fully capture the expansive freedom and deep RPG mechanics of the complete game, it offers a compelling glimpse into what awaits players.
The Gothic Remake is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and GOG). A specific release date is yet to be announced.
