The RPG adventure management game, *The Tale of Food*, featuring charming personified food characters, is set to close its doors. Initially launched for a closed beta in China in September 2019 and later distributed by Tencent Games, the game has had a notable run. Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming shutdown of *The Tale of Food*.
When Is the The Tale of Food Shutdown?
The game, which allowed players to command an army of handsome, personified dishes, will officially shut down on March 20th, 2025, at 10:00 AM (UTC+8). Starting today, February 18th, in-game purchases have been disabled. New player registrations have also been halted as of today, and the game has been delisted from the Google Play Store. However, if you have already downloaded the game, you can continue playing until the servers close on March 20th.
What About the Jewels Collected in the Game?
For those who purchased jewels between January 9th and February 18th, 2025, a refund is available. You can request a refund through in-game support or by emailing the developers before the shutdown date of March 20th. More details on the terms and conditions of the shutdown can be found on the official X account of *The Tale of Food*.
It's worth noting that the Japan server of the game was shut down in April 2023, followed by the China server in June 2024. Now, the global version is the next to go offline.
As your journey as the Food God's child, managing a realm of dumplings and suave seafood, comes to an end, the official X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and Discord communities will remain active. These platforms will serve as spaces for players to reminisce and share their memories of the game.
