For Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on the PS5, Square Enix has alluded to visual enhancements

The PC version of the game boasts superior visuals and stability compared to its PS5 counterpart, sparking considerable community discussion about the need for a PS5 update. Currently, the PS5 version suffers from blurry visuals in performance mode, leaving base console owners with little option but to await patches. Game director Naoki Hamaguchi acknowledges this, stating that improvements are feasible within the PS5's technical limitations: “After releasing the PC version’s promotional material, we received many requests for a similar PS5 update, and we aim to address this at some point, while remaining within the performance capabilities of the PS5 version.”

Players eagerly anticipate Square Enix responding to this fan demand for enhanced console visuals.

While the team is actively developing the sequel, Director Hamaguchi requests patience, promising further details at a later date. He highlights 2024 as a successful year for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the second game in the trilogy, noting its global acclaim and numerous awards. The third installment presents unique challenges as the developers strive to expand the game's fanbase. Interestingly, Hamaguchi also expressed his admiration for Grand Theft Auto VI this year, acknowledging the significant pressure on the Rockstar Games team due to the phenomenal success of GTA V.
