NieR: Automata offers a diverse arsenal, from quirky choices like the Iron Pipe to heavy hitters such as the Type-40 Blade. Many weapons are unique to the game, but one weapon will feel familiar to Square Enix fans.
Noctis's Engine Blade from Final Fantasy XV makes an appearance during your first playthrough. Here's how to locate it and its key stats.
Where To Find The Engine Blade In NieR: Automata
The Engine Blade is hidden within the factory, but not accessible during the game's opening. You'll need to revisit the area as 2B. Chapter Select (Chapter 9) provides a shortcut for quick access. Begin at the Factory: Hanger access point.
Exiting the access point, take the right path (2D camera perspective). Pass a fenced-off area, ascend broken stairs, and navigate conveyor belts with moving boxes and potentially lethal presses. After crossing the press-laden belt, jump to the next cylinder, where spider-like enemies await.
Enter the door on the left, climbing more stairs while dodging exploding enemies. A railing ends midway, revealing an extended platform. Proceed towards the camera to trigger a 2D platforming section, navigating across presses to the left. The final room contains three chests; the Engine Blade is in the leftmost chest.
Beware: Exploding enemies will attack once you approach the chest.
Engine Blade Stats In NieR: Automata
- Attack Power: 160-200
- Combo: Light 5, Heavy 3
This weapon allows four upgrades, ultimately reaching a light combo of 7 hits (requires finding Masamune). Unlike the Iron Pipe, it boasts a tighter damage range, offering more predictable damage output.
