Days Gone Remastered: Enhanced PS5 Experience with New Modes and Features

Bend Studio's post-apocalyptic adventure, Days Gone, is getting a remastered release for the PlayStation 5, boasting a range of exciting new features. Announced during Sony's February 2025 State of Play, the upgrade includes enhancements such as VRR and PS5 Pro support, but the real highlights are the additions to gameplay.

Prepare for a more challenging experience with the inclusion of a permadeath mode and a dedicated speedrun mode. Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the enhanced photo mode, while players seeking greater accessibility will find improved options. A new Horde Assault arcade mode ups the ante, pitting Deacon St. John against even larger hordes of Freakers than before.

Days Gone Remastered arrives on April 25, 2025. PS4 owners can upgrade for a mere $10. Watch the debut trailer below:

This remastered edition represents Sony's ongoing effort to enhance PS4 titles for PS5 players. Joining other upgraded titles like The Last of Us Part I and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, Days Gone Remastered promises a significantly improved experience.

PC players aren't left out. While Days Gone is already available on PC, the $10 Broken Roads DLC will deliver the new modes, enhanced photo mode, DualSense support (where applicable), and accessibility features to that platform.

A recent PlayStation.Blog post delved deeper into the improvements. Bend Studio highlights that the PS5 version is optimized for the console, offering both Performance and Quality modes. PS5 Pro owners can expect even more stunning visuals and enhanced audio. DualSense controller features, such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, are fully integrated.

New PS5 players can purchase Days Gone Remastered for $49.99. Pre-orders begin tomorrow, offering eight PSN avatars and five early in-game unlocks as bonuses. For a complete overview of the State of Play announcements, check out our summary here.
