Stardew Valley: A Comprehensive Guide to Crystalariums

Stardew Valley offers a wealth of opportunities beyond farming and animal husbandry. Gemstones, valuable for crafting and gifting, are a prime example. While mining for rare gemstones can be time-consuming, the Crystalarium provides a solution. This remarkable device replicates gemstones and minerals, significantly boosting profits. This guide details its acquisition and use, updated for the 1.6 update.

Obtaining a Crystalarium

Crystalarium Crafting Recipe

To craft a Crystalarium, players need to reach Mining Level 9. The required ingredients are:

  • 99 Stone: Easily obtained by breaking rocks.
  • 5 Gold Bars: Smelt Gold Ore (found at mine levels 80 and below) using a Furnace and Coal.
  • 2 Iridium Bars: Mine Iridium in Skull Cavern or obtain it daily from the Statue of Perfection (then smelt).
  • 1 Battery Pack: Collect these from charged Lightning Rods during thunderstorms.

Alternative Acquisition Methods:

  • Community Center Bundle: Complete the 25,000g bundle in the Vault.
  • Museum Donation: Donate at least 50 minerals (gemstones or geodes) to the Museum.

Using the Crystalarium

Crystalarium in Use

Place your Crystalarium anywhere – indoors or outdoors. The Quarry is a popular location for mass production. It replicates any mineral or gemstone (except Prismatic Shards).

  • Growth Times: Quartz has the shortest growth time but low value. Diamonds have the longest (5 days) but offer the highest profit.

  • Relocation and Stone Changes: Use an axe or pickaxe to remove a Crystalarium. Gems inside will drop. To change the gem being replicated, simply interact with the Crystalarium while holding the desired gem. The current gem will be ejected, and the new one will begin replicating.

By strategically using Crystalariums, players can significantly increase their income and enhance their relationships with Pelican Town's residents.
