I wasn’t planning on buying more Pokémon cards this week. Then I saw that the Scarlet & Violet – Surging Sparks Booster Bundle was still in stock on Amazon for $45.02 following its massive Pokémon TCG restock. The timing couldn't be better, with the Amazon Spring Sale in full swing, offering plenty of hot sets to grab while stocks last. My willpower crumbled faster than a 60 HP Basic facing a 390-damage Hydreigon ex.

My favorite? The Surging Sparks set is pure chaos in the best way possible. It's packed with chase cards that are worthy of being slabbed, like the $432 Pikachu ex Special Illustration Rare. That’s no exaggeration. The little electric mouse is not only a collector's dream but also a powerhouse in battle. Topaz Bolt can clear nearly any threat from the board, and Resolute Heart makes it incredibly tough to knock out.

Then there’s the Latias ex and Latios duo, pulling a full-on romance movie moment with their connected artwork. Latias is the rarer and more expensive twin, costing over $200. It seems big sibling energy comes with a higher price tag. Meanwhile, Milotic ex is out here channeling its inner supermodel with its dramatic light and shadow effects, and somehow it also counters Tera Pokémon, making it a meta card to watch.

My personal favorite? Ceruledge. It’s like a neon fever dream, and I mean that in the best possible way. This is the first time its card has been truly valuable, and I think illustrator Rond deserves a round of applause—or at least a coffee. Ceruledge may not be a top-tier Pokémon competitively, but with this art, I couldn’t care less.

The bundle includes six booster packs, so you’re not guaranteed any heavy hitters, but given how quickly these are selling out, I wouldn't wait too long. Pikachu isn’t going to pull itself.
