In 2012, Maximus competed against former World Champion Alexander Schwarzman, showcasing its impressive capabilities despite a narrow defeat (five draws and one loss). More recently, it secured third place in the (unofficial) 2019 World Championship Computer Draughts competition, a testament to its strength even when running on a less powerful mobile device than its desktop counterpart.

Maximus offers a range of difficulty levels, starting with a beginner mode perfect for learning the rules (Maximus plays randomly) and progressing through ten training levels from novice to expert.
