While Split Fiction boasts a linear co-op adventure, it's sprinkled with delightful detours: Side Stories. Though optional, these offer some of the game's most memorable moments—think pig transformations and deadly game show appearances! This guide helps you uncover all 12, unlocking the "Bookworms" achievement.
Finding All Side Stories in Split Fiction
Chapters 2 through 5 each hide three Side Stories. Here's a breakdown of their locations:
Chapter 2
- Legend of the Sandfish: Appears naturally after completing Chapter 2's "Rush Hour" section. Can't be missed.
- Farmlife: Located in the "Streets of Neon" section, after crossing a small barrier, before the left elevators.
- Mountain Hike: Found in "Big City Life," near the Port-A-Potties. Have Mio enter a Port-A-Potty, then use Zoe to toss her to the opposite ledge with a ladder. Have Mio drop the ladder for access.
Chapter 3
- Train Heist: In "Lord Evergreen," on a ledge reachable via wall-running during the plank section.
- Gameshow: Within "Walking Sticks of Doom," on a platform after the side-scrolling section; requires minor platforming.
- Collapsing Star: Located in "Halls of Ice," on the main path through the palace; impossible to miss.
Chapter 4
- Kites: Found at the end of the long tube in "Toxic Tumblers."
- Moon Market: In "Test Chamber," on a left-hand ledge after the crane sequence, accessible via platforming.
- Notebook: The final Chapter 4 Side Story, in "Soaring Desperados," to the left of the giant wheel after obtaining the jetpack.
Chapter 5
- Slopes of War: Located in "Water Temple," after solving the lever puzzle to the left of the golden balls, post-dragon hatching.
- Space Escape: In "Craft Temple," after defeating the dragon. Requires launching Mio with her glide and Zoe's roll, then dropping a column for Zoe to climb.
- Birthday Cake: The final Side Story, in "Treasure Temple," after completing the soul puzzle, to your left.
Completing all 12 Side Stories automatically unlocks the Bookworms achievement.
