Deck the Halls in Stellar Blade: New Holiday Attire
Shift Up is bringing holiday cheer to Xion on December 17th. Celebrate with Christmas-themed costumes, decorations, and a brand-new mini-game!
Eve and other characters sport festive outfits:
- Santa Dress (Eve)
- Rudolph Pack (Drone)
- I'm No Santa (Adam)
Complete Eve's look with the Santa Girl hairstyle and accessories like Snow Crystal Glasses, Wreath Earrings, and Sleigh Ear Cuffs.
A Festive Xion and a Holiday Mini-Game
Xion transforms into a winter wonderland, adorned with warm lights and festive decorations. The Last Gulp and Eve's camp also receive a holiday makeover, complete with seasonal BGM ("Dawn (Winter)" and "Take me away").
A new mini-game awaits! Details are scarce, but targeting a holiday drone promises special rewards.
Control Your Festive Fun: Seasonal Content Toggle
The update introduces an option to enable/disable seasonal events (including the Nier:Automata DLC) in the Gameplay settings. Choose from:
- Auto: Seasonal content automatically enabled/disabled based on the season.
- Disable: Deactivate seasonal content regardless of the season.
- Enable: Activate seasonal content regardless of the season.
Note: Changing this setting requires a game restart from your most recent save.
Mixed Reception: A Celebration with Concerns
Following the December 16th announcement, fan reaction has been largely positive, with many embracing "Christmas Eve." However, some question the frequency of event updates for a single-player game with a relatively short playtime (around 30 hours). The need to restart the game to fully experience seasonal content is a point of contention for some players.
Many games with seasonal content offer multiplayer or high replayability, extending the enjoyment of cosmetic items and rewards. Stellar Blade's single-player nature and shorter playtime mean players might feel compelled to restart to fully appreciate the holiday additions.
