In the thrilling co-op horror game, R.E.P.O., your primary objective is simple yet terrifying: retrieve valuable items and survive the onslaught of randomly spawning monsters. Successfully extracting your loot rewards you handsomely, providing crucial funds to acquire essential survival gear. Outsmarting the menacing AI Taxman is key to your survival!
Securing those valuable items requires strategic navigation to the Extraction Point. Here, your hard-earned treasures are tallied, and the Taxman determines your fate, allowing you to proceed to the Service Station—hopefully with a hefty sum to spend on upgrades.
As you progress through R.E.P.O., the extraction process becomes second nature. What initially seems daunting quickly transforms into routine as you overcome increasingly challenging levels and monstrous encounters.
How to Extract in R.E.P.O.
Your first R.E.P.O. run features a single Extraction Point. However, as you conquer new locations, this number increases, with a maximum of four currently. The red number in the top-right corner of your screen conveniently tracks your progress, indicating both the total number of drop-offs required and those already completed.
Initially, the Extraction Point is conveniently located near your R.E.P.O. truck—a constant you can always rely on for your first haul. Subsequent drop-offs, however, present a greater challenge. After your first delivery, the Taxman's demands and the location of the next drop-off remain unknown. This is where your in-game map becomes invaluable. Pressing "Tab" reveals unexplored areas, aiding route planning and enabling coordinated efforts with teammates, allowing for efficient map coverage.
The location of the next Extraction Point becomes apparent either visually or audibly upon reaching its vicinity. Once located, press the large red button to initiate the assessment. The Taxman will then reveal whether you've collected enough. If successful, place your C.A.R.T. within the designated grey area to avoid losing items. Repeat this process for each Extraction Point until you reach the final one. Note that after the last drop-off, you don't need to return the C.A.R.T. to your truck; a new one will appear at the next location.
