What Are Energy Crystals in R.E.P.O.?
These shiny yellow crystals, found at the Service Station after completing your first level, are a worthwhile investment, costing between $7,000 and $9,000. Early in the game, when the difficulty is lower, they're usually cheaper, providing an opportunity to stock up if you've had a successful run.
Purchasing an Energy Crystal adds an Energy Container to your R.E.P.O. truck—a game-changer. This container allows you to recharge tools like the Valuables or Extraction Tracker by simply placing them inside the container. This significantly reduces the need for replacements, saving your team valuable funds in the long run. Simply place your item in the bin beside the container (marked with a yellow lightning bolt) to begin recharging. You'll be ready to tackle the next Clown, Gnome, or Shadow Child in no time.
The Energy Crystals automatically appear in the container upon purchase. However, their lifespan isn't infinite. Each crystal's energy depletes with use, eventually breaking and requiring replacement. A single crystal typically recharges about four battery sections of an item, and six crystals fully replenish the Energy Container.

Energy Crystals are exclusively purchased at the Service Station, and as mentioned, they can be expensive. To ensure you have enough funds, diligently collect valuables throughout each level. Remember, only after successfully completing a level with sufficient funds will the Taxman transport you to the Service Station.
During particularly challenging levels, it's sometimes wiser to escape with just enough money to pass the level, rather than risking losing both your life and valuable loot.
