The stream featured a four-minute cinematic trailer, serving as the game's opening narrative sequence, introducing a dark fantasy action RPG experience.
Set in a 14th-century alternate Europe, The Blood of Dawnwalker follows Coen, a young man who gains supernatural powers after the events depicted in the trailer. His mission: rescue his loved ones from a vampire threat within a strict 30-day timeframe. While time progresses only during specific gameplay segments, strategic time management will be crucial.
Coen faces a compelling moral conflict: embrace his humanity or succumb to his vampiric nature. This choice significantly impacts both gameplay and the narrative. A key mechanic, "Blood Hunger," forces players to carefully manage Coen's blood intake; prolonged abstinence risks uncontrolled actions with potentially devastating consequences.
The game boasts a detailed open world, a "narrative sandbox" as the developers describe it, where environmental elements dynamically change based on the time of day. Players will enjoy considerable freedom in their exploration and actions.
Developed over two years using Unreal Engine 5, The Blood of Dawnwalker is slated for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. A specific release date is yet to be announced.
