Code Geass Mobile Game Concludes Global Odyssey

The strategic tower defense game, Code Geass: Lost Stories, is ceasing global mobile operations. While the Japanese version will continue, the international servers are scheduled to shut down on August 29th, 2024. This means players will lose access to their accounts after this date, and official social media channels will also close.

Developed by f4samurai and DMM Games, published by Komoe, and based on the popular Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion franchise, the game launched globally in September 2023, falling short of its first anniversary.

Closure Details:

  • Shutdown Date: August 29th, 2024.
  • Account Access: Unavailable after August 29th.
  • In-App Purchases: Disabled immediately.
  • Downloads: No longer available.

Reasons for Closure:

While no official reason was given, the game's low download numbers and generally unfavorable global reviews likely contributed to the decision. Many licensed anime gacha games struggle to maintain a significant player base outside Japan due to lower spending habits. The game's blend of RPG, action, and tower defense elements, while appealing in concept, apparently failed to attract a substantial global audience.

Japanese players can still access the game via the Google Play Store.
