Pack Hourglasses will continue to function as intended in future expansions, reducing booster pack opening delays by one hour per hourglass, regardless of the expansion's content.
This confirmation follows the October 2024 release of Pokemon TCG Pocket and the subsequent addition of the Mythical Island booster pack. With another expansion anticipated in January 2025, concerns arose regarding the utility of accumulated Pack Hourglasses. These concerns are now alleviated by The Pokemon Company's statement.
Players can continue to stockpile Pack Hourglasses, knowing they will remain a valuable asset for accelerating pack openings. The acquisition of Pack Hourglasses remains consistent; they are earned through daily challenges and the daily Complimentary Item Set in the shop. While the possibility of new expansion-specific currencies remains open for future updates, the current system, including Pack Hourglasses, will persist.
For players without Pack Hourglasses, Pack Stamina replenishes every 12 hours, allowing for two pack openings daily. This ensures continued gameplay even without the use of hourglasses.
The Pokemon Company's reassurance should ease the minds of players who had been concerned about the value of their existing Pack Hourglass inventory.
